What a record setting night!

The Innisfil Lakers would like to take this time and congratulate 20 year old forward Brian Davidson on his record breaking night that took place in Beaverton tonight. Brian was the first player in the GMHL to hit 8 goals in one game. Previously the record was set in the GMHL's first season when Craig Peacock of the Richmond Hill Rams scored 7 goals against the South Muskoka Shield. Davidson would go on to add another two assists to the night to make it a 10 point night. The other record that was broken was when Connor Hendry had 9 assists in the game to give him the new record for most assists in one game. Both Hendry and Davidson would have a 10 point night as the Lakers defeated the Brock Bucks 12-4 in Beaverton.

Making some changes in net

Director of Hockey Operations Dan Garneau was a busy man today with sending 20 year old goaltender Chris De Carlo to the Ville-Marie Dragons in exchange for future considerations. We would like to wish Chris all the best of luck to him with his new journey in Ville-Marie.

Latest signing!

With the move of Chris De Carlo the Lakers filled his spot with 19 year Geoffrey Sadjadi from the famous Shattuck St Mary's U18 Prep team. Shattuck St Marys has a rich tradition of having the top notch kids from around the world playing for them and moving them off to college. Well the Lakers lucked out on this goaltender! Last season with Shattuck St Marys Sadjadi had an incredible record of a 1.78 goals against average with a .925 save percentage and posting 7 shutouts in the season. Geoffrey was a huge part of Shattucks success last year as he helped them win a national championship and only had 3 losses among the entire season. Already there have been several calls from NCAA division one schools regarding Sadjadi as he is on many NCAA schools radars.

Moose hunting season continues

Last game it was an 11-2 victory for the Lakers over the Toronto Canada Moose, but this game was a little different. The lakers would be with out two of there top guns with Caleb Lister nursing an injury suffered last game during the game against Bradford and Brian Davidson who was off to play a college game against Morrisville State College in upstate New York. Less then eleven minutes into the game 91 born Max Douglas would find the back of the net to put the Lakers up to an early 1-0 lead. Just over a minute later Connor Hendry would score his first of three on the night as Manny Lopez would feed him the beautiful pass. Connor would then add his second goal of the game less then a minute later to go into the second period with a convincing 3-0 lead. Lakers go local with there first ever draft pick!

The Lakers believe to win championships you have to build your team from the net out and that's exactly what they did when they selected young sixteen year old local goalie Kyle Runge of the Barrie Colts Minor Midget “AAA” club. Runge had a great season last year with the Colts and the Lakers feel that Kyle will be a huge addition to the club for now as well for years to come. Kyle's father Dan is a former pro football player that stands at 6'9 290 pounds. Runge is looking to get an NCAA scholarship in playing for the Lakers. Next pick would land the Lakers a hot shot stud out of California that led the West Coast U16 AAA in scoring with over 120 points. Many scouts of having the same playing style as Anaheim's star forward Ryan Getzlaf have described Max Douglas. Below is a list of the draft picks selected by the Lakers.
