January 10th
Lakers add two more D
The Innisfil Lakers sign Dman Richard Blais and Jean-Bernard Gagnon. Blais comes from the Markham Waxers of the Ontario Provincial Junior "A". Richard is 19 year old 6-3 200 pounder that will be a big adittion. Gagnon was a late cut from Chicoutimi of the QMJHL who played two pre season games with the club. Jean-Bernard is 17 year old that stands at 6-5 200 pounds. Welcome both Richard and Jean-Bernard.
January 9 th
Lakers and Kings make a deal
The Innisfil Lakers agree to trade the playing rights of Mike MacDonnell to the Espanola Kings for future considerations. The Lakers would like to wish all the best to MIke with his new club in Espanola.
January 6th
Lakers with two big wins against the Shield
Being 5 points behind the Shield the Lakers would come up with two big wins. Friday night the Lakers would get the 6-1 victory with Treadwell in net. Sunday afternoon would be the make up game and Gage Gonyou would get his first game as a Laker and it would be a big win winning 8-4. With this victory the Lakers move up to 34 points only being one point behind.
December 30th
Lakers fall to the Russians
What a great experiance it was for our lakers to be the first team ever to play the Russians at the Innisfil Rec Centre. Infront of a crowd of 320 the Lakers got off to a great start by winning after the first period 2-1. The Russians outshot the Lakers 25-10 and Treadwell kept the boys in the game. When it was all said and done the Russians got the victory with a 7-3 final. It was great to see all of the scouts attend the game and talk to some of the Lakers players after the game.
December 19th
Lakers make a blockbuster trade
The Innisfil Lakers agree to trade the playing rights of 19 year old forward Tim Revell and 17 year old defenseman Justin Murray to the Temiscaming Royals in exchange for the playing rights of Darcy Vaillancourt,Alain Pouliot,Kevin Weirda and Nik Priebe, along with Temiscaming's 1st and 3rd round draft picks in the 2008 GMHL annual draft. .

Game Canceled
Tonights game in Bradford between Innisfil and Bradford is canceled due to bad weather. Details on the make up date for that game will be available soon.
December 15th
Lakers beat 2nd place Temiscaming Royals
It was not long ago when the Temiscaming Royals crushed the Lakers 6 game winning streak in Temicaming. Ralph Naval would get the first goal of the game short handed which would be one of three short handed goals for the Lakers in this game. Jonathen Dew would end up shinning in this game scoring 3 goals and an assist to give the Lakers the 5-2 win over the Royals. Next Lakers home game is Friday December 21st when the Lakers host the South Muskoka Shield game time is 7:30 at the Innisfil Rec Centre. New ticket prices are also in affect $8 for Adults and $6 for students and seniors.
December 14th
Lakers add two more!
The Innisfil Lakers are pleased to announce that they have acquired Forward Mitchell Sullivan from the Nipissing Alouettes in exchange for Brandon Ellis and a 4th round draft pick for the 2008 GMHL draft. Sullivan lead the Alouettes in scoring last season. The Lakers would like to wish Ellis all the best with his new club. Also, the Lakers have signed a new goaltender and defenseman. Gage Gonyou was one of the final cuts from the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the QMJHL. Gonyou played last season for the Akwesasne Wolves Jr B club last year and was selected to the All Star game.Harrison Newlands is a 16 year old defenseman that was playing with the Markham Islanders Midget AA team in the GTHL. Welcome Gage and Harrison to the Lakers.

The Russians are coming to Innisfil !
It is finally official that the Moscow Selects are coming to Canada. With there first stop being in Innisfil to play you Lakers. The Moscow Selects will be playing 7 GMHL teams during there visit to Canada. Tickets are now on sale by phone and will be going fast. December 13th
Two Lakers selected on GMHL College All Star trip
The Innisfil Lakers would like to congratulate forwards Mattias Arvastsson and Phil Grainger on being selected to represent the GMHL All Stars to play the Mercryhurst Lakers club team in Erie,PA. Arvastsson is having a stand out year recording 18 goals and 21 assists in just 19 games. While Grainger is one of the leading scorers among 16 year olds in the GMHL with 29 points in 18 games. Congratulations to both players and make the Lakers proud!
December 10th
Lakers split weekend series
The Lakers would start this game off being down by two goal going into the second period, but would bounce back with 4 unanswered goals. Mattias Arvastsson would steal the show that night scoring a hat trick and picking up an assist on the night. Matt Treadwell was in net for the win. Sunday would be different story though when the Storm had revenge on there mind. Despite having the 2-1 lead after the first the storm bounced back and came back to win the game 5-3.
December 2nd
Lakers wn Home Opener!
Lakers got off to the right start with downing the Richmond Hill Rams 4-2 on there opening night. Over 450 fans were in attendance to witness the Rams winning there first ever home game. Mattias Arvastsson went into the record book recording the Lakers first ever home goal. Other goals were scored by Anton Holm, Phil Grainger and Jonathen Dew. With this victory the Lakers move up to 6th place.
Lakers Home Opener is here!
After months of delay the Lakers are pleased to announce that the home opener is finally is here this Friday. Doors will open at 6:30pm and general admission is $8 per person. It will be not easy contest though the red hot Richmond Hill Rams will be in town. Mayor Bryan Jackson will be on hand to drop the puck with GMHL President Bob Russell.
Innisfil is now third in the league by winning percentage as well as second for goals forwarded percentage. Come out and support your Innisfil Lakers in there first ever home game!
